Xiaomi 15 will have a really big camera sensor.
If the rumors from before are true, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro might be the first smartphones to use Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. They are expected to come out in October. New information has come out about their main camera.
A recent leak from a trusted source, Digital Chat Station, has revealed some details about the cameras on the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro. They will have a specially designed OmniVision 50 MP main camera, which has a big 1/1.3″ sensor size. However, the exact size of the aperture hasn’t been specified yet.
Both phones will also have a new multi-layer anti-reflection coating on their lenses. This improvement is meant to make the cameras better at letting light in while reducing glare and ghosting. Interestingly, there’s talk that the Xiaomi 15 Pro might even come with a periscope telephoto lens. This feature was previously only available on Xiaomi’s Ultra devices.
As usual, the Xiaomi 15 will probably be released in China first before it’s available in other countries, possibly in early 2025. The Xiaomi 15 Pro might only be sold in China, like the previous model. However, the regular Xiaomi 15 and the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be announced for international markets.
This means that people in China might get the Xiaomi 15 Pro, while people in other countries will have access to the regular Xiaomi 15 and the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
