WhatsApp to Launch Instagram-Style Reshare Status Feature
WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will make it easier for users to reshare status updates where they’ve been mentioned, similar to how Instagram handles it.
Here’s how it will work: If someone tags you in their WhatsApp status, you’ll soon be able to share that status update directly with your contacts, without needing to take screenshots or ask the original poster to send it to you.
This new “Reshare Status Updates” feature is still in development. Once it’s ready, you’ll see a special button on the status update itself. By clicking this button, you can quickly and easily share the status with your friends and contacts, making the process smoother and more straightforward.
Right now, sharing a status update where you’ve been tagged on WhatsApp is a bit of a hassle. Users often have to take screenshots or ask the person who posted the status to send it to them directly.
The new “Reshare Status Updates” feature aims to make this much easier. It will add a simple button to the status update screen. With this button, you can quickly share any status update where you’ve been tagged with your contacts, without any extra steps.
This feature is still being developed and isn’t available for testing yet. WhatsApp hasn’t given a specific release date, but it should be part of a future app update.
