Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is celebrating Independence Day with a special offer. They are giving a 14% discount on all tickets that are bought before August 14.
A PIA spokesperson explained that this discount is available for domestic flights within Pakistan. They also mentioned that passengers can buy these discounted tickets right now.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) recently announced a special discount on domestic flights, just one day after offering a similar deal for flights to Toronto.
The 14% discount is available for all domestic flight bookings made from August 1 to August 14. Passengers who book their tickets during this time can use the discounted fares for travel from August 15 to November 14.
In other news, a report released on Friday revealed that 38 PIA planes were hit by birds in the first half of 2024. These bird strikes happened between January and June and affected flights in cities like Islamabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Sukkur, as well as in Jeddah and Dubai. Out of the 38 incidents, five planes were significantly damaged, while the remaining 33 planes had only minor impacts.
The damaged PIA aircraft include one Airbus 320 and three Boeing 777s. Bird strikes, where birds collide with planes, are a common problem all over the world and particularly in Pakistan. To help reduce these incidents, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has been running campaigns to keep airport areas clean and free of birds.
