Intel Expands Xeon Processor Line for Professional Creators

Intel has introduced new processors to expand its Xeon workstation lineup, including the Xeon W-3500 and Xeon W-2500 models. These processors are designed to meet the high demands of professional creators, researchers, engineers, and software developers, especially those working with AI and machine learning.

The Xeon W-3500 and Xeon W-2500 processors feature an enhanced architecture with up to 60 performance cores and 120 threads for the W-3500, and up to 26 cores and 52 threads for the W-2500. Compared to older models, these new processors offer up to 10% better performance in handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

Roger Chandler from Intel highlighted that these new processors are built to support professionals in various fields, accelerating their work and innovation.

Key features of the Xeon W-3500 and W-2500 processors include:

  • Up to 4.8 GHz Turbo Frequency: Both processors can reach this speed for better performance.
  • Increased Cache: The W-3500 has up to 112.5 megabytes of L3 cache, while the W-2500 has up to 48.75 megabytes.
  • High Memory Capacity: They support up to 4 terabytes of memory.
  • ECC Memory and RAS Technologies: These features improve data accuracy and system reliability.
  • PCIe Gen 5.0 Lanes: The W-3500 supports up to 112 lanes, and the W-2500 supports up to 64 lanes for connecting various components.
  • Intel Deep Learning Boost: Enhances AI training and processing tasks.
  • Intel vPro Enterprise: Provides better security and easier integration into enterprise systems.

The new Xeon processors will be available for order from major industry partners like HP, Dell, and Lenovo starting in September. The prices will range from $609 for the Xeon W3-2525 to $5,889 for the Xeon W9-3595X.
