France Secures Convincing 3-0 Victory Over USA in Olympic Men’s Football Opener
France vs USA: Paris Olympics 2024 Men’s Football Match Recap In the first match of the men’s Olympic football competition at Marseille Stadium, France dominated with a resounding 3-0 win against the United States. The game marked the USA’s return to Olympic football after 16 years.

Clement Bade sealed the victory with a header in the 85th minute, showcasing France’s attacking prowess under the guidance of coach Thierry Henry.
Despite a strong start by the USA, they struggled to contain the relentless French attacks and failed to convert their opportunities. USA substitute Griffin Yow briefly celebrated a goal in stoppage time, only to see it disallowed for offside.
The match saw intense moments with several stoppages, resulting in eight minutes of added time. Both teams made late substitutions, but it was France who secured three points from their opening Group A fixture.
