Utility Stores are selling essential food items such as flour, sugar, and rice at higher prices compared to the regular market rates.
According to sources, staples like flour, broken basmati rice, red lentils (dal masoor), sugar, basmati rice, and sila rice are priced significantly higher at Utility Stores.
For instance, a 20 kg bag of flour costs Rs. 958.01 more at Utility Stores than in the general market. Sugar is selling for Rs. 11.62 per kg more, and dal masoor is priced Rs. 11.01 per kg higher at these government-run outlets. Broken Basmati rice is Rs. 19.86 per kg more expensive, while sila rice is marked up by Rs. 44.64 per kg compared to market rates. Super Basmati rice is Rs. 23.05 per kg more costly at Utility Stores.
