Ben Stokes Set to Make Comeback in The Hundred for Northern Superchargers England’s red-ball captain, Ben Stokes, is gearing up for his much-anticipated comeback in the upcoming season of The Hundred, where he will represent Andrew Flintoff’s Northern Superchargers.
Stokes, renowned for his dynamic all-round abilities, will join the team following the conclusion of the England versus West Indies Test series.
Scheduled to play in four matches for the Superchargers, Stokes missed last year’s competition and is poised to make a compelling return to this unique cricket league.
Joining him are several key players from England’s Test squad, including Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, and Jamie Smith, who will also feature for their respective teams in The Hundred after fulfilling national team duties.
The marquee tournament commences on July 23, overlapping with the start of the third and final Test match against West Indies on July 26.
The addition of these top international cricketers is expected to significantly enhance the competition in The Hundred. Early rounds will feature notable players such as Gus Atkinson, Matthew Potts, and Dillon Pennington, with Chris Woakes set to join from Tuesday, August 6.
Players selected for the first Test against Sri Lanka at Emirates Old Trafford on Wednesday, August 21, will be available for The Hundred’s Eliminator and Final matches, scheduled for August 17 and 18, respectively, based on their roles and workload management.
