Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan is ready for the next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He made these comments during a meeting with a Chinese delegation led by Minister Liu Jianchao from the International Department of the Communist Party of China in Islamabad.
He mentioned that completing all ongoing and new CPEC projects quickly will help Pakistan’s economy grow. He was pleased that both countries agree on CPEC.
PM Shehbaz Sharif mentioned that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is supporting Chinese investments in Pakistan. He praised the Chinese leaders for their efforts to strengthen Pakistan-China relations and improve CPEC.
He said the friendship between Pakistan and China is strong and important for peace in the region and the world.
PM Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the Chinese minister and his delegation for organizing successful political meetings between Pakistan and China. He emphasized the need for regular talks between political parties from both countries.
Minister Liu Jianchao spoke about the strong bond between Pakistan and China. He said China supports Pakistan’s economic growth and wants to improve CPEC together.
The meeting agreed to increase cooperation between the governments and businesses of both countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers, and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir also attended the meeting.
PM Shehbaz Sharif hosted a dinner to honor the Chinese minister and his delegation.
