OGRA is getting ready to send a request for changes in prices to the Petroleum Division by May 31.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is thinking about lowering the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs5 and Rs4 per liter, respectively. This could help people who are finding it hard to pay for fuel because prices keep going up. If the plan goes ahead, it could make petrol and diesel cheaper for everyone in the country.
OGRA will send a report about the suggested changes in prices to the Petroleum Division on May 31. Then, the Ministry of Finance and the prime minister will make the final decision and send an official notice.
The new prices will start on June 1 and will be valid for the first two weeks of the month.
Earlier, on May 1, the government said they would lower the prices of petrol and diesel by a lot. Now, petrol costs Rs 288.49 per liter, and diesel is Rs 281.96 per liter, according to the Finance Ministry.
