The Windows Insider Program has sprung back to life following the initial rollout of Windows 11 version 24H2 and the introduction of the first Copilot+ PCs. New prerelease builds for Windows 11 are now available across the Canary, Dev, and Beta channels, though none of them bring particularly groundbreaking updates.
Canary Channel:
In the Canary channel, Windows 11 Insider Preview build 26244 introduces a small set of general improvements and fixes aimed at enhancing the overall user experience for Insiders. Notably, the Windows Backup program now includes support for backing up sound settings, including sound schemes.
Dev Channel:
Moving to the Dev channel, Windows 11 Insider Preview build 26120.961 introduces three new accessibility features: hands-free dictation using voice access in Narrator, Voice Access auto-restart, and Voice Access Command for Windows Search. Alongside these, familiar changes include the addition of an account manager in Start, Clipboard Copy and QR code generation in Share, Emoji 15.1 support, and the newly integrated sound settings backup in Windows Backup. Additionally, the Rename PC dialog has been restyled to align with the overall Windows 11 design.
Beta Channel:
In the Beta channel, Windows 11 Insider Preview build 22635.3858 brings minor changes and improvements, such as an indicator for multiple tabs in File Explorer thumbnails during Alt + Tab and Task view. There are also minor UI adjustments in the Share feature.
Overall, while these updates introduce some enhancements and fixes, they do not introduce any particularly exciting changes.
