Twenty-eight people died when a passenger bus heading to Quetta fell into a ditch.
The accident happened because the tire of the passenger bus burst, causing it to flip over.
A passenger bus flipped over and fell into a ditch in Balochistan’s Washuk district, killing at least 28 people, including women and children, according to rescue officials on Wednesday morning.
Around 22 people were injured in the accident and taken to Basima Civil Hospital for treatment, as reported by Levies and rescue officials.
The accident happened because the tire of the passenger bus burst while it was traveling from Gwadar to Quetta.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his sadness over the incident and prayed for those who died. He also told the authorities to help the injured.
Balochistan’s Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti also offered his condolences and prayed for the injured.
In two other accidents in May, 13 people from the same family died when a truck fell into a ditch in Punjab’s Khushab district due to brake failure. Another incident involved a passenger bus falling into a ravine in Diamer district, Gilgit Baltistan, resulting in 20 deaths and 21 injuries.
