The ‘Road to Makkah’ initiative helped 720 Pakistani pilgrims reach Saudi Arabia for the first time.
The initial batch of 720 Pakistani pilgrims has landed in Jeddah, marking the start of Pakistan’s Pre-Hajj flight operations. As of May 23, a total of 34,316 Pakistanis have already arrived in Madinah. Between May 24 and June 9, another 34,422 pilgrims are expected to be transported to Jeddah on 114 flights. This process is part of the preparations for the annual Hajj pilgrimage, where Muslims from around the world travel to Saudi Arabia to perform religious rites.
The pilgrims are leaving from major cities such as Islamabad and Karachi under the Makkah Route initiative. This initiative aims to streamline the immigration process, making it quicker and more convenient for the pilgrims to reach their accommodations once they arrive in Saudi Arabia. It’s meant to ease their journey and ensure a smoother experience during the pilgrimage.
This year, Pakistan has a Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims. The Hajj pilgrimage, which is one of the biggest religious gatherings globally, will happen from June 14 to June 19. This large-scale event is carefully planned to make sure all Pakistani pilgrims can complete their religious obligations without any issues, making their journey smooth and comfortable.
