Solar panel prices increase in Pakistan: People who care about solar energy worry that more taxes might stop more people from using solar power.

Before the Budget 2024-2025, the prices of solar panels in Pakistan have gone up noticeably. Traders are changing the prices because they think there will be new taxes in the budget. The federal government will announce the budget on June 12, following what the International Monetary Fund (IMF) wants as Pakistan talks about getting more financial help.

Sources say that the government might add more taxes on solar panels. Because of this possibility, traders are increasing their prices before the taxes are officially announced. The price increase is about Rs8 per watt, and it affects all kinds of solar panels in terms of size and features.

In June 2024, here are the updated prices for solar panels:

– For a 1-watt panel, it costs Rs8.

– A 588-watt plate now costs between Rs4,000 to Rs5,000.

– An 180-watt panel is priced at Rs1,440.

Before, consumers were paying around Rs3,000 to Rs4,000 for a 588-watt panel. Now, the prices have gone up significantly.

Smaller panels, which range from 180 to 280 watts, are now sold for prices ranging between Rs1,000 and Rs1,500.
