Samsung Begins Rollout of Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition to Athletes Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition during its recent Unpacked event. This custom smartphone is being distributed to all athletes participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics.
The company has begun delivering units to nearly 17,000 participating athletes ahead of the device’s official market release. The Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition features a distinctive Yellow color adorned with the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics logo engraved on the back panel. Each device comes equipped with an eSIM pre-installed with 100 GB of 5G data, provided by Orange.
In addition, Samsung Wallet includes a complimentary public transport access card, and the device comes pre-loaded with Olympics apps “to enhance the athletes’ experiences and facilitate new connections while in Paris,” as stated in a press release. Samsung has been a key partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since Nagano 1998, consistently launching custom Galaxy phones since Sochi 2014.
The Flip6 Olympic Edition follows the special Winter Dream White variant of the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, which was launched for Beijing 2022, making it the second foldable to receive the Olympic treatment.
