Barrister Gohar said the Supreme Court’s decision has ended predictions of a ban on PTI.
In a statement to the media, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali mentioned that the party has no plans to form a coalition government with the People’s Party. He emphasized that this option had been available since February 9. Instead, he stated that PTI will focus on being a strong opposition party.
Regarding the no-confidence motion, Barrister Gohar clarified that no decision has been made yet. He mentioned that discussions are ongoing and the option for talks remains open.
In a significant legal victory for PTI, the Supreme Court of Pakistan overturned the Election Commission’s decision to deny reserved seats to PTI. The decision came after a split verdict of 8-5, with seven judges ruling in favor of PTI. The court nullified the Peshawar High Court’s previous order upholding the ECP’s decision, which had denied reserved seats to PTI’s ally, the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC).
This ruling marks a pivotal moment for PTI, ensuring its representation through reserved seats and reaffirming its legal standing in Pakistani politics.
