President Zardari said that the PML-N is not capable of governing effectively

The Punjab leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) expressed strong concerns about the federal and provincial governments during a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari.

During the meeting, PPP leaders from Punjab expressed that both the provincial and federal governments are not cooperating with their party. Sources familiar with the discussion stated that the PPP ticket holders from Punjab raised concerns that issues in their constituencies are not being addressed. They emphasized the importance of satisfying their constituents who voted for them.

President Asif Ali Zardari assured the Punjab PPP leadership that he would work to resolve their issues. He also remarked, “The PML-N is unable to effectively govern.” Zardari further stated his intention to focus on development projects from Islamabad to Lahore, asserting that no other political party can rival the PPP.

He said that the PPP knows how to form governments and also how to overthrow them. The president, however, called upon his party members to resolve issues through dialogue and cooperation.

Earlier, Ali Haider Gilani, a leader of the PPP, expressed concern that the people of South Punjab should not be treated as subjects. He criticized the Punjab government for shutting down the South Punjab Secretariat, which had been set up by the previous administration.

Gilani pointed out that all the secretaries of the South Punjab Secretariat have been removed by the current government.

He insisted that Punjab should not be governed like a colonial territory, stating that such an approach is unacceptable.

Gilani criticized the leadership in Lahore, accusing them of ignoring the people of South Punjab.

He emphasized that the people of South Punjab are an integral part of Punjab and should be fully recognized and respected.
