Pakistan Wins Five Medals at 4th CISM World Military Cadet Games
The Pakistan Armed Forces tri-services team achieved notable success at the 4th International Military Sports Council (CISM) World Military Cadet Games held in Venezuela from August 16 to 22.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday, the team won five medals in total.
The Pakistani military athletes competed in track, field, and shooting events. Chief Warrant Officer Mueed Baloch from the Pakistan Air Force won a gold medal in the 400-meter race. This was a significant achievement as it marked the first time that the Pakistani Armed Forces team has won medals at the World Military Games.
Baloch, from Karachi’s Shanti Nagar, is a national champion in the 200-meter and 400-meter races and holds Pakistan’s national record in the 400-meter race with a time of 46.73 seconds. He first competed in 2015 and has since achieved numerous victories in international events.
In addition, Sepoy Muhammad Akhtar of the Pakistan Army won a bronze medal in the 5000-meter race.
In the shooting events, the team of Naik Qasim Bilal, Sepoy Ismail Khan, and Sepoy Muhammad Rashid from the Pakistan Army won a silver medal in the 25-meter rapid-fire pistol shooting team event.
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and all the Services Chiefs have congratulated the team for their outstanding performance.
