Oppo Reno 12 Series Getting Ready to Launch Worldwide Soon: The Oppo Reno 12 series is on its way, and it looks like Oppo is joining the AI trend with these new phones, just like many others have done. Both the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro are getting ready to launch worldwide. Right now, there are teasers being released to get people excited about them. Recently, there was a leak that suggested the global and Chinese versions of the phones might have different specifications. This means that the phones might have different features or capabilities depending on where they’re sold.

Sudhanshu Ambhore leaked the specifications of the global versions of the Reno 12 series. When we compared these to the Reno 12 series launched in China earlier, we discovered some interesting differences. There weren’t many changes, as some people might have expected. However, there was one key difference that significantly affected its performance, putting it a step or two behind in terms of performance compared to the Chinese version.

In China, the Reno 12 has a Dimensity 8250 chip, and the Reno 12 Pro has a Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chip. These are top-notch chips commonly found in flagship phones. However, according to the leak, the global versions of the Reno 12 and 12 Pro will come with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy chip. This choice of processor is seen as unusual for phones in this class. Some might even find it disappointing. But that’s how it is!

The other specifications are impressive. They feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The resolution is 1080p, and the brightness can go up to 1200 nits. The selfie cameras are also excellent, each with around 32 megapixels. However, there’s a noticeable difference in the rear cameras of Oppo’s latest flagship mobile. Make sure to remember that.

The Reno 12 has three cameras on the back. The main one is a 50-megapixel shooter with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), made by Sony LYT-600. There’s also an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. The third one is a 2-megapixel macro camera. The Reno 12 Pro is even better in this aspect and adds an extra 50-megapixel telephoto camera for added fun.

Now, let’s talk about power, software, and charging. Both models come with a 5000 mAh battery, providing ample power. The Pro version supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, which means it can charge very quickly. However, the non-Pro version only supports a 45W PD standard, which is still decent but not as fast as the Pro version.

In terms of software, both models run on Color OS 14.1, which includes various AI features such as AI Eraser 2.0, AI Studio, AI Smart Image Matting 2.0, AI Portrait Retouching, and AI Clear Face. These AI features enhance the user experience by improving image quality, editing capabilities, and facial recognition.
