Leaked Google Pixel Watch 3 Specifications
Google’s Annual Hardware Launch Moves Up to August 13 Pixel 9 Series and Pixel Watch 3 Expected
Google is shifting its annual hardware launch event to August 13 this year, two months earlier than usual. Alongside an expanded Pixel 9 family, the highly anticipated Pixel Watch 3 will also make its debut. The Pixel Watch will introduce two sizes for the first time, a detail confirmed by the FCC.
Today’s leak, reportedly from a source within Google, reveals more specifics about the Pixel Watch 3. It will be powered by the Snapdragon W5 SoC with a custom co-processor. The 41mm model will feature a 310 mAh battery, while the larger 45mm variant will include a 420 mAh cell, aiming for improved battery life. Display sizes have increased slightly from the Pixel Watch 2, with resolutions set at 408×408 pixels for the 41mm and 456×456 pixels for the 45mm model.
While the overall design remains reminiscent of its predecessors, the Pixel Watch 3 will feature slightly reduced screen bezels. The circular bezel will shrink from 5.5mm on the Pixel Watch 2 to 4.5mm on the Pixel Watch 3. Additionally, the new watch boasts enhanced screen brightness, peaking at 2,000 nits compared to 1,000 nits on the Pixel Watch 2.
Confirmed by the FCC, the Pixel Watch 3 will support UWB (Ultra-Wideband), facilitating precise device tracking with Google’s Find My Device system. This technology could potentially turn the Pixel Watch 3 into a car key, pending support from manufacturers like BMW, Hyundai, and Kia.
Color options for the 41mm Pixel Watch 3 include silver, black, and gold cases with various band colors, while the 45mm model offers Hazel, black, and silver cases.
