Kalki 2898 AD, Needs 44 Crores More to Reach 9th Highest-Grossing Indian Film

Kalki 2898 AD saw a decline in box office earnings after a strong second weekend, which is understandable.

Kalki 2898 AD had a fantastic second weekend, earning nearly 150 crores worldwide between Friday and Sunday. This pushed it closer to the 1000 crore mark. After such a strong weekend, everyone was curious to see how Monday would fare. Fortunately, it was a good day, and the film’s total gross at the global box office has now surpassed 850 crores.

Things have been going well for this big-budget film. Before its release, there wasn’t much hype, but now it seems the makers were confident in the content and Prabhas’ star power. His popularity drew audiences to theaters initially, and positive word-of-mouth after the first weekend has kept the momentum going.

After comfortably crossing the 800 crore mark during its second weekend, Kalki 2898 AD experienced an expected drop in earnings on its 12th day. The Hindi version, which now leads in domestic collections, saw a slightly larger drop due to heavy rainfall in several areas, impacting its overall earnings for the day. Estimates suggest the film made around 12 crores net (across all languages) on its second Monday in India.

After 12 days, Kalki 2898 AD has earned approximately 526.43 crores at the Indian box office, which translates to 621.18 crores gross. Internationally, the film made around 5 crores on its second Monday, bringing the total overseas gross to 238.50 crores. Combining both Indian and overseas earnings, the film’s worldwide box office now stands at an impressive 859.68 crores gross.

In the coming days, the film starring Prabhas is expected to surpass Secret Superstar’s gross earnings of 902.92 crores, making it the 9th highest-grossing Indian film of all time globally.

This achievement underscores the film’s strong performance both domestically and internationally, driven by Prabhas’ star power and positive audience reception.
