Iran aims to attract greater numbers of Pakistani students
A delegation of students from several Iranian universities visited Punjab University on Sunday. Led by Dr. Seyyed Abolhasan Navvab, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Iran’s University of Religions and Denominations, the group included heads of various universities, teachers, and researchers.
Dr. Navvab emphasized his efforts to strengthen ties with Pakistani universities and improve cultural relations between the two countries. He highlighted Iran’s commitment to fostering strong relations with Pakistan, noting opportunities for deeper connections that have existed in the past. He also mentioned the global presence of Pakistanis.
The delegates expressed their interest in increasing the number of Pakistani students studying in Iran, citing the enrollment of thousands of foreign students in Iranian universities. They mentioned the establishment of centers at Iranian universities to facilitate academic dialogue between Iran and Pakistan.
Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, shared that agreements have been established with Iranian universities to promote collaboration. He expressed a desire to enhance research cooperation with Iranian institutions.
During their visit, the Iranian delegation toured various departments at Punjab University and showed interest in a wide range of educational and research fields.
