Good News! UK Inspectors Satisfied with Security at Islamabad Airport

A team from the UK Department for Transport (UK-DfT) visited Islamabad International Airport to check security. They were happy with the safety measures in place.

Earlier, the UK and some other European countries stopped Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights because they were worried about pilot licenses. This made the UK team review how things work at the airport.

During their visit, the UK-DfT team checked different parts of the airport. They looked at how passengers are handled, how crews work, how baggage is handled, and how vehicles are checked. They also checked how safe planes and cargo are.

People from the Airport Security Force (ASF) told the UK team about the security rules at the airport. They explained the extra safety measures for flights to the UK. These measures make sure that flights to the UK are really safe.

An ASF spokesperson said, “The UK team looked at the extra safety rules we have for UK flights and how safe our airport is in general. They checked everything carefully and said we’re doing a good job to make things safe.”

The UK inspectors liked how well everything was checked at the airport. They said the ASF’s safety rules met their strict standards.

After checking everything, the UK-DfT team went back to the UK. They will write a report about what they found, and it will go to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in three weeks.

The UK team being happy with the security is a big step. It might mean that PIA can start flying to the UK and other EU countries again.

This check is part of making sure Pakistan’s airports are really safe. The ASF and other groups are working to keep things safe and follow international rules. They’ll make any changes needed based on what the UK team says in their report.
