Great news for passengers traveling on Pakistan Railways
Pakistan Railways said that Sir Syed Express will start running again from September 1.
The Railways department has made a big announcement that starting from September 1, a train will operate between Karachi and Rawalpindi under private management. This service was halted in 2022 due to severe floods. Now, Pakistan Railways has decided to resume it in collaboration with a private logistics company.
Additionally, Pakistan Railways had previously announced a ‘Summer Vacation Special Train’ to accommodate passengers. This special train will run from Karachi to Rawalpindi from July 5 to July 30.
An official from the Ministry of Railways mentioned that all preparations for launching the train have been completed as per the directives of Secretary Railways Syed Mazhar Ali Shah.
The official mentioned that the special train (50-Dn) will start its journey from Rawalpindi on July 5 and will continue to run on July 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, and 29.
According to him, the train will depart at 12:30 pm and is expected to arrive at Karachi Cantt at 2:15 pm the following day.
The official also said that the return journey (49-Up) will leave Karachi Cantt on July 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, and 30. It will depart at 8:45 pm and reach Rawalpindi at 10 pm the next day.
