Google is finally rolling out support for speedometer readings and speed limits in Maps on iOS, which also works through CarPlay. This update comes five years after the same features were added to Android. However, it may take a few weeks for the rollout to be completed, so users should be patient if they don’t see the update immediately.

The speedometer will display speed in km/h or mph, depending on your region. Users can enable this feature by navigating to Settings > Navigation > Driving options. The speed limit feature will change the colors on the speedometer to prompt drivers to stay within the speed limit for the particular road segment.

Google emphasizes that the speedometer reading in Maps is “for informational use only,” advising users to rely on their vehicle’s speedometer for accurate speed readings.
