Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Karachi After Passenger Dies
The plane heading to Colombo had to land urgently at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi early Thursday morning because a passenger became seriously ill during the flight.
According to sources, the flight was traveling from Dubai to Colombo when a woman passenger had a heart attack and her health worsened. The pilot requested permission from the Air Traffic Control (ATC) for an emergency landing at Karachi airport.
Once clearance was granted, the flight landed urgently at Karachi airport. Medical personnel examined the passenger during the check-up and unfortunately found that she had already passed away, according to sources from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The deceased passenger, identified as Paloni, aged 57, had died due to a heart attack. A health officer issued a death certificate for the passenger, and later the plane departed for Colombo with the body onboard.
In October, a flight heading to Amritsar from Dubai had to make an emergency landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport because a passenger’s health became worse during the flight. The Civil Aviation Authority spokesperson confirmed that Indian Airlines flight IX-192 landed at the Jinnah International Airport at 12:19pm.
