Eagles Defeat Packers in Brazil as Saquon Barkley Scores 3 Touchdowns
Philadelphia Eagles vs Green Bay Packers game in Brazil
After a rough start marked by penalties and turnovers, the Eagles and Packers played an exciting game in Brazil. The Eagles emerged victorious with a 34-29 win, largely due to the standout performance of Saquon Barkley. Barkley, who joined the Eagles this season on a significant three-year, $37.5 million contract, made a huge impact in his debut. He scored three touchdowns, tying a record set by Terrell Owens in his first game with the Eagles back in 2004. Barkley ran the ball 24 times for 109 yards and two rushing touchdowns, and also caught two passes for 23 yards and one receiving touchdown.
In the final moments of the game, the Packers’ quarterback Jordan Love suffered an injury. On the second-to-last play, while the Packers were trying to pull off a last-minute win, Love was tackled by Eagles defenders who wrapped up his legs. He managed to toss the ball to running back Josh Jacobs before falling to the ground. After the play, Love was seen rolling in pain and needed help to walk off the field.
Before his injury, Jordan Love, in his second year as the Packers’ starting quarterback, threw for 260 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He had put the Packers in a good position to take the lead several times late in the game. However, Love was unable to lead the Packers to a touchdown on their final five drives. Instead, the Packers only managed to score a field goal during the last 27 minutes of the game.
