Witness Account: Ron Moose, who supports Trump and was at the rally, described what happened: “I heard about four shots, and I saw the crowd drop down. Donald Trump quickly ducked down too. Then, the Secret Service agents all rushed to protect him instantly. It happened within a second.”
Moose said he saw a man running away and military officers chasing him. He heard more shots but wasn’t sure who fired them. He mentioned that snipers were positioned on a warehouse roof behind the stage by then.
The BBC interviewed a man who saw everything and said he and others saw a person with a rifle crawling on a roof near the event. They tried to alert security.
The shots seemed to come from outside the area guarded by the Secret Service, said the agency. The FBI said it was leading the investigation into the attack.
