CM Punjab Unveils Pakistan’s Biggest Agricultural Internship Program
FAISALABAD – In an important step to strengthen Pakistan’s agricultural sector, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the largest agricultural internship program in the country’s history. The agricultural internship program was officially started at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, marking a significant effort to support young talent in agriculture.
This ambitious agricultural internship program will offer financial support and practical experience to 1,000 agriculture graduates. Each participant in the agricultural internship program will receive a monthly scholarship of PKR 60,000. This funding will help them as they begin their careers while gaining important hands-on experience in the industry. The goal of the agricultural internship program is to equip the next generation of agricultural professionals with the skills they need to innovate and improve productivity in the sector.
During the launch event, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif handed out appointment letters to the selected graduates, showing her commitment to empowering youth in agriculture through the agricultural internship program. She also spoke with faculty and students at the University of Agriculture, discussing how the participants were chosen through a merit-based selection process. The event was lively, with many graduates excitedly taking selfies with the Chief Minister.
A memorable moment during the event was when Maryam Nawaz Sharif praised a student named Aneela Hussain for her heartfelt recitation of a Naat, a poem in praise of the Prophet Muhammad. The Chief Minister recognized Hussain’s talent and dedication, highlighting the importance of celebrating young achievers in the community, especially those involved in the agricultural internship program.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including Senator Pervez Rasheed, Federal Advisor Rana Sanaullah, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, and Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Uzma Zahid Bukhari, among others. Their presence showed the Punjab government’s commitment to promoting agricultural education and innovation through the agricultural internship program.
