Car Sales Surge by 137.9% in Pakistan in June 2024 The Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA) has reported a significant surge in car sales for June 2024, marking a substantial increase of 137.91% compared to the same month the previous year (2022-23).
In June 2024, car sales soared to 10,128 units, up from 4,257 units sold in June 2023.
However, over the fiscal year 2023-24 (July to June), overall car sales experienced a decline of 15.63% compared to the preceding fiscal year, with a total of 81,677 units sold versus 96,811 units.
Breaking down the figures, sales of Honda Civic and City combined totaled 11,501 units, down from 12,823 units in the previous fiscal year. Sales of Toyota Corolla and Yaris also declined by 13.44%, with numbers decreasing to 16,305 units from 18,838 units. Suzuki Swift saw a substantial drop of 40.38% in sales, with figures decreasing to 5,567 units from 9,338 units.
During the fiscal year under review, Suzuki Alto saw a marginal increase of 1.42% in sales, rising from 35,379 units to 35,883 units. Conversely, Suzuki Bolan’s sales decreased to 2,774 units compared to 4,447 units in the previous year.
Sales of Suzuki Cultus fell to 3,689 units from 6,956 units, and Suzuki WagonR sales declined to 3,595 units from 5,434 units.
The data reflects the dynamic nature of Pakistan’s car market amid evolving consumer preferences and economic factors.
