PM Shehbaz Sharif: Traders Must Help Expand Tax Base
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that if inflation keeps going down, the government plans to ease the financial burden on salaried workers. He shared this during a meeting with young members of the PML-N party, where he stressed that fair taxation is important and that no single group should carry most of the tax load.
Sharif called on traders to help expand the tax base by contributing more to the national revenue. He emphasized that all sectors should share the tax burden fairly, and everyone should play their part in supporting the country’s financial system.
The Prime Minister also mentioned that Pakistan’s issues with international loans will be discussed in a meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) scheduled for September 25. He is optimistic about recent economic improvements, noting lower inflation, increased remittances, and growth in exports.
Additionally, Sharif expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and China for their crucial support in helping Pakistan secure the IMF deal, which has been key to stabilizing the country’s economy.
He remains hopeful that these positive trends will continue and that with cooperation from all sectors, Pakistan can achieve better financial stability.
