Islamabad to Welcome New Modern Cinemas.The 13th meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board took place with all members present and was led by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
Revitalizing Islamabad’s Cinema Scene
The board decided to bring back cinemas in Islamabad. They plan to redevelop plots that were originally set aside for cinemas, following legal guidelines. Additionally, they approved the construction of four new cinemas in the city. These cinemas will be designed to meet modern needs and international standards.
Improving Financial Management
To better manage finances, the board decided to place the Resource Wing under the supervision of the Member Finance. This change aims to help achieve revenue goals more effectively. The Resource Wing will look for new ways to increase revenue, address any issues in the current revenue collection process, and implement modern technology and practices to improve financial management.
Enhancing City Infrastructure
- IT Park Advisory Services: The board agreed to hire experts for advising on the development of an IT Park in Sector G-10.
- Bus Terminal Feasibility: They approved the design and feasibility of a new bus terminal with funding and support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
- Public-Private Partnerships: The board authorized the Public-Private Partnership Authority to seek advisory services for various projects.
- Sewerage System Improvement: The City Sewerage Division will now report to the Director General of Water to enhance the sewage treatment system in Islamabad.
These decisions are part of the CDA’s efforts to improve Islamabad’s infrastructure and services, making the city more modern and efficient.
