Arshad Nadeem Awarded 280 Million Pakistan Rupees Cash Prize – Report Arshad Nadeem, who recently won the gold medal in javelin throw at the Paris Olympics, has been showered with accolades and rewards, including cash prizes totaling approximately 280 million Pakistani Rupees, along with cars and other gifts. The latest recognition came from the Governor of Punjab, who awarded him two million rupees and a car.
In addition to these personal gifts, Nadeem has called for improved facilities for athletes, particularly for women, to enhance their performance. He emphasized the need for a modernized track and field stadium and a university for women in his hometown, Mian Channu. “We urgently need better facilities for our athletes to excel,” Nadeem stated during an interview on ARY News.
Nadeem, accompanied by his wife Rashida, also shared a light moment regarding a buffalo gifted to him by his father-in-law. “I was a bit surprised by the gift and thought that maybe a few acres of farmland would have been more practical,” he joked.
Rashida revealed that she was aware of Nadeem’s injury issues before the Olympics but kept this information from the rest of the family. “I couldn’t sleep for three days before the Games, constantly praying for his health and success,” she said.
Looking ahead, Nadeem’s long-time coach, Salman Butt, announced that the athlete will return to training in a month. Butt highlighted the challenge ahead, stating, “Arshad understands that he must work harder to maintain his top position amid growing international competition in javelin throw.”
