Trudeau Discusses Meeting with Diljit Dosanjh ‘Canada is a Country Where Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau paid a visit to Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh ahead of his historic sold-out concert at Toronto’s Rogers Centre. Dosanjh shared a video of their meeting on Instagram, showing Trudeau and himself exchanging greetings with folded hands followed by a warm hug.

Trudeau also posed with Dosanjh’s team amid chants of “Justin, Justin” and the singer’s trademark phrase, “Punjabi Aa gaye oye (Punjabis are here).” Dosanjh captioned the video and photos from Trudeau’s visit, emphasizing Canada’s strength in diversity and noting Trudeau’s support for the event.

Trudeau also posted on Instagram, praising Canada as a country where someone from Punjab could achieve historic milestones like selling out stadiums. He highlighted diversity as not just a strength but a superpower.

Dosanjh, known for hits like “Lover,” “Proper Patola,” and “GOAT,” is currently on his “Dil-Luminati Tour” and made history by headlining concerts at both Vancouver’s BC Place and Toronto’s Rogers Centre, venues with capacities exceeding 54,000 and 49,000, respectively.

Following his Rogers Centre concert, Dosanjh shared photos and videos capturing the enthusiastic response from fans. This adds to his global acclaim, having been the first Punjabi artist to perform at Coachella in 2023 and making appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Dosanjh also received accolades for portraying 80s Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila in a biopic directed by Imtiaz Ali.
