CM Gandapur has decided to set up a cyber security institute that meets global standards
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has decided to establish a top-notch cyber security institute in Peshawar. The institute aims to provide cyber security education to young people in the province.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur on Tuesday. Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi, along with officials from Higher Education, Science Technology & Information Technology departments, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board, and National Center for Cyber Security, attended the meeting.
It was decided that the new cyber security institute will be housed in an existing government building. It will offer Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. programs in cyber security.
During the meeting, CM Gandapur instructed the Higher Education and ST&IT departments to finalize the institute’s details and submit proposals for formal approval as soon as possible.
CM Gandapur emphasized the importance of establishing a specialized cyber security institute in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to meet current needs. He assured that the provincial government will allocate necessary resources on a priority basis for the institute.
He also highlighted the potential of the information technology sector and pledged to expand such cyber security institutes to other divisions in the future.
Ali Amin Gandapur expressed the government’s commitment to providing modern IT education and training to the youth of KP. He noted the province’s talented youth and promised to create opportunities for them in various sectors, both nationally and internationally.
