Samsung Galaxy A06 Leak Suggests Limited Changes from Previous Model

Samsung is preparing for its highly anticipated event in the latter half of the year, but there’s more in store for fans of the handset maker. Among the lineup of upcoming Galaxy devices, the Galaxy A06 is set to debut. While not as high-profile as the Galaxy Z Fold 6, budget-friendly phones like the Galaxy A06 often outsell Samsung’s flagships. However, early leaks suggest that the Galaxy A06 may not bring significant changes compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A05.
Recently spotted on Geekbench via MySmartPrice, the Galaxy A06 appears to retain the same MediaTek Helio G85 chipset as the Galaxy A05. While benchmark scores from prototype units aren’t definitive, this similarity in chipset implies no substantial performance upgrade over its predecessor.
The Geekbench listing also confirms the Galaxy A06 will feature 6GB of RAM, aligning with the Galaxy A05. It’s noted that the Galaxy A06 will run Android 14, an update from the A05’s Android 13. However, beyond these details, there’s little else known about the Galaxy A06, suggesting minimal differences from the A05.
If these assumptions hold true, the Galaxy A06 is likely to feature a familiar 6.7-inch HD+ display, a dual rear camera setup (50MP + 2MP), an 8-megapixel front camera, and a robust 5,000 mAh battery.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A05 last September, hinting at a similar timeframe for the A06’s unveiling this year. As for pricing, expectations point to a figure around €100 / $110, given the lack of significant upgrades over the current model.
