In a surprising event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a three-year-old boy named Zaeem Abbas was accused of stealing electricity. The FIR, which is a formal complaint, was filed by the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA). However, the case was dismissed by the Additional Sessions Judge after receiving an affidavit, a written statement of facts.

This incident is notable because it occurred during a time when significant losses due to electricity theft have been revealed, amounting to Rs 438 billion across various Power Distribution Companies (DISCOs). To address this problem, the federal government has taken action by deploying officers from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to DISCOs. Their main goal is to crack down on electricity theft and improve the recovery of losses.

This situation highlights the ongoing efforts to address power theft issues in the region, with the aim of enhancing accountability and ensuring the fair distribution of electricity resources.
