Hot weather in Pakistan: Warnings issued
A really hot weather is spreading across different parts of Pakistan, with temperatures going much higher than usual.
The Weather Department has warned about many areas, like Umarkot, Larkana, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Naudero, Nawabshah, and Multan.
It says most of the flat areas in the country will have really hot weather. Especially, Sindh and Punjab will be affected, with temperatures expected to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius higher than normal.
The forecast says it will stay very hot and dry in Islamabad and nearby places, making things worse.
Punjab Alert
Because of the increasing heat, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab has issued a warning for Punjab, including Lahore. They’re taking special steps to deal with the extreme heat.
In Lahore, there are heatwave stations at Mayo Hospital and General Hospital. They have signs showing how to stay safe in the heat. The hospitals are all set with the right medicines to help anyone who gets sick from the heat.
“We haven’t had any patients sick from the heat yet,” said someone from the hospital. “But we’re ready to help if it happens.”
The Weather Department said that from May 21 to 23, it will be much hotter than usual in Sindh and Punjab, with temperatures going up by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius. Then, from May 23 to 27, it will get even hotter, with temperatures rising by 6 to 8 degrees Celsius above normal.
They expect the same kind of hot weather in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan during the same time. Temperatures will be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius higher than usual.
