Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah shared good news for electricity users in Karachi who consume less than 100 units monthly. The Sindh government aims to offer them free electricity using solar power projects. This move is to cut down their bills and encourage renewable energy.
To back up this idea, the Sindh government has set aside Rs 5 billion for solar energy projects. One important part of the plan is to give out 200,000 solar panels at lower prices.
In this plan, consumers will pay only 20% of the solar panel cost, while the government will pay the rest, which is 80%. This big discount is meant to make solar energy cheaper and easier to get for the people in Karachi.
Besides giving out solar panels, the Sindh government will also build solar parks and mini-grid stations all over the province, including Karachi. These will make solar power and free electricity available to the right people, whenever they need it.
This plan not only helps lessen reliance on old power sources but also encourages using clean, renewable energy.
This move comes at an important time because K-Electric, the main electricity supplier in Karachi, is having money problems. They’re worried because government departments and the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board haven’t paid their bills.
These unpaid bills have made things hard for K-Electric, making it tough for them to keep the power working smoothly. If this isn’t sorted out, there might be power cuts in the city.
The Sindh government’s solar energy plan wants to help K-Electric by cutting down the need for regular electricity. By giving free solar power to people who don’t use much, the government hopes to lighten the load on the power grid and make electricity in Karachi more stable.
This action fits with bigger plans to push renewable energy and cut down on carbon emissions. By putting money into solar projects, the Sindh government is making a big move towards a greener and more eco-friendly energy future for the province.
good keep it up
