Wiese made 13 runs and limited Oman to 10 in the super over after both teams finished with the same score at the end of 20 overs each.

Namibia won a thrilling match against Oman in their T20 World Cup Group B game in Barbados. The game was tied, so they had to play a super over to decide the winner.

David Wiese played a crucial role for Namibia in the match that took place late on Sunday. He scored 13 runs during Namibia’s turn in the super over, helping them reach a total of 21 runs. Then, when Oman had their turn to bat in the super over, Wiese bowled well, limiting Oman to just 10 runs. This helped Namibia secure an important victory at Kensington Oval.

The match went into an extra over after both teams finished with 109 runs each in their 20 overs.

Oman seemed to be in trouble when they were bowled out for 109 runs in 19.4 overs, largely due to Ruben Trumpelmann’s excellent four-wicket bowling performance.

However, Oman’s bowlers fought back well, restricting Namibia’s batsmen. Mehran Khan particularly stood out with an impressive spell, taking three wickets while conceding only seven runs in three overs.

Khan’s performance made the match very tense, with the outcome hanging in the balance.

In the final over, Khan took two crucial wickets, preventing Namibia from reaching their target of five runs to win, which left the game undecided and forced it into a super over.

Wiese scored three runs in the next two balls, and then Namibia’s captain, Gerhard Erasmus, hit two consecutive fours, setting Oman a challenging target of 22 runs to win the super over.

Wiese also bowled for Namibia in the super over. After giving away only two runs in the first two deliveries, he managed to get Naseem Khushi out.

Two singles were scored, leaving Oman needing 18 runs from the last ball to win. At that point, Wiese knew victory was secured for Namibia, even if Zeeshan Maqsood hit a six.

“I feel like I aged a few years tonight,” said the 39-year-old Wiese. “And I don’t have many years left. It was a very emotionally exhausting evening.”

Despite the pressure, Wiese was confident that he could lead Namibia to victory in the super over, both with the bat and the ball.

At the start of the match, Trumpelmann set up a fantastic start for Namibia by taking two wickets from the first two deliveries, ending with a total of four wickets. Wiese also performed well during the regular 20 overs, taking three wickets for 28 runs off 3.4 overs.

However, Namibia faced difficulties during their run chase. Jan Frylinck scored the highest with 45 runs, followed by Niko Davin with 24 runs, but the team from Southern Africa fell just short of reaching their target for victory.
