Vivo Y300 Pro Debuts Next Week with Several Firsts
The vivo Y300 Pro is set to launch next week, according to Jia Jingdong, President of Vivo and General Manager of Brand and Product Strategy. The phone will be officially unveiled in China on September 5.
In a detailed post on Weibo, Jia Jingdong highlighted several key features of the Y300 Pro. These include a large battery and a quad-curved display, both of which are significant firsts for Vivo. He explained how these new features will enhance the user experience and why they are important for the company’s future.
The Y series is Vivo’s best-selling lineup of phones in China. Jia Jingdong, President of Vivo, mentioned that the company aims to bring high-end features to their more affordable models. That’s why the new Y300 Pro will include a Silicone-Carbon battery, a technology also used in the premium Vivo X Fold3 and Fold3 Pro.
The Vivo Y300 Pro will feature a larger 6,500 mAh battery, which is the highest capacity for a mainstream phone in 2024. Despite its large size, the phone will remain slim, measuring only 7.69 mm thick, thanks to the new battery technology’s higher density.
Additionally, the Y300 Pro will support 80W fast charging and reverse charging. Vivo promises that the battery will retain its full capacity for up to five years.
The Vivo Y300 Pro will feature a new type of screen design called a “quad-curved” display. This means all four edges of the screen are curved, creating a smooth and symmetrical look. This is the first time Vivo has used this design.
The screen will also be very bright, with a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. It will have SGS certification for reducing blue light and preventing screen flicker, which helps to protect your eyes.
In terms of durability, the VIVO Y300 Pro will be dustproof and “all-weather rainproof.” This means it should be able to handle dust and some exposure to rain. While it might have protection similar to IP53 or IP68, Vivo typically does not officially certify its devices for IP ratings in the Chinese market, so we might not see an official rating.
The Vivo Y300 Pro will have a camera design on the back similar to the flagship X100 series. This design is called the “360-degree sun design.” The phone will feature a dual-camera setup: the main camera will have a 50 MP sensor, and the front-facing selfie camera will have a 32 MP sensor.
There are seven days left until the official launch of the Vivo Y300 Pro. In the coming days, we expect Vivo to reveal more details and specifications about the phone.
