The largest oil company in the world, Saudi Aramco, has finished buying 40% of Gas & Oil Pakistan.
Saudi Aramco, a big company in energy and chemicals worldwide, is expanding its business by buying 40% of Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd. (GO). This news was shared on Aramco’s official website. GO is a big company in Pakistan, with more than 1,200 fuel stations and selling different fuels, oils, and services.
The idea to buy this part of the company was first mentioned in December 2023. This is the first time Aramco is investing in Pakistan’s retail fuel sector, showing that they want to grow their retail business in places where they can make money. Besides this deal, Aramco also bought all of Esmax Distribución SpA (Esmax), a big company selling fuels and oils in Chile.
Yasser Mufti, Aramco’s Executive Vice President of Products & Customers, talked about how important these expansions are. He said, “We are getting bigger in retail around the world, and this buying is an important step. We’re happy to work with GO to give our customers in Pakistan the best products and services from Aramco.”
