The mention of Zen 5 X3D CPUs alongside the new X870, X870E, B850, and B840 motherboards suggests that these chips may be unveiled soon.
Ryzen 9000 Zen 5 CPUs give gamers no reason to upgrade
With the initial review cycle of the Ryzen 9000 CPUs now complete, it’s clear that neither the Ryzen 5 9600X nor the flagship Ryzen 9 9950X offer a compelling upgrade for gamers currently using Zen 4 processors. While the Zen 5 CPUs do provide a slight performance improvement, those seeking top-tier gaming performance should consider the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which remains a strong option.
Given that Intel’s Arrow Lake is expected to launch in October and could pose a serious challenge to Zen 5 in gaming performance, it seems likely that AMD will soon introduce the Ryzen 9000 X3D chips. AMD is rumored to be planning a new event in October, where the company is anticipated to unveil updates for data center, workstation, and AI products. This event could also serve as the launch platform for the Ryzen 9000 X3D processors.
