PSEB has received interest from 14 organizations to set up e-Rozgar Centers in Pakistan.
Around fourteen companies and individuals have shown interest in opening e-Rozgar centers across various cities in Pakistan as part of PSEB’s program to establish 250 such centers.
Documents obtained by ProPakistani indicate that PSEB has received four applications from Islamabad and three from Sialkot for these centers. Additional applications have also been received from Gujranwala, Lahore, Quetta, Hyderabad, Khairpur, Narowal, and Faisalabad.
PSEB has completed the technical evaluation of these applications and will further scrutinize them before forwarding them to banks for loan approval. Private banks will offer loans up to Rs. 10 million to each applicant for setting up the e-Rozgar centers, with PSEB covering the interest on these loans to keep them interest-free for the recipients.
Once verified, the banks will finalize the loan arrangements. These loans are part of the Prime Minister Youth Loan Scheme, aimed at prioritizing the establishment of e-Rozgar centers. Banks will collaborate with the applicants to determine grace periods and repayment schedules.
Under the initiative led by PSEB under the Ministry of IT and Telecom, the program aims to support freelancers and startups in Pakistan by setting up 250 e-Rozgar centers nationwide. These centers will provide dedicated workspaces tailored for freelancers and startups.
Building owners selected for this program can apply for interest-free loans through PSEB to cover the setup costs of these centers. This public-private partnership will provide essential financial support, including interest-free loans of up to Rs. 10 million, to foster the growth of Pakistan’s digital workforce.
