Pakistan’s Textile Exports Reach $2.9 Billion in Two Months
In the first two months of the 2024-25 fiscal year, Pakistan’s textile exports increased by 5.37%, reaching $2.915 billion. This is up from $2.766 billion during the same time last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Overall, the country’s total exports grew by 14.42%, totaling $5.069 billion. Within this, textile exports saw a strong rise, with a 12.99% increase in August 2024 compared to the same month last year, and a significant 29.36% rise compared to the previous month.
However, cotton yarn exports faced challenges, dropping by 45.21% compared to last year and by 1.64% from the month before. On a positive note, rice exports jumped by 98.58% year-on-year, reaching $464.667 million.
In August, Pakistan’s main export items included knitwear, ready-made garments, and rice, showing a diverse range of strengths in the country’s export sector.
