Exports from Pakistan to China increased by 37.68% in the last 10 months.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said that from the start of this fiscal year (2023-24) until now, Pakistan sold more goods and services to China. The increase was 37.68% compared to the same time last year.
From July to April in the year 2023-24, exports to China totaled $2.341 billion. This is compared to $1.700 billion in exports during the same period in 2022-23, according to data from the State Bank of Pakistan.
Compared to April 2023, exports to China in April 2024 went up by 13.56%, reaching $199.352 million from $175.542 million.
In April 2024, exports to China dropped by 18.97% compared to March 2024, when they were $246.030 million, according to SBP data.
Pakistan’s exports to other countries increased by 10.64% in the first ten months, rising from $23.199 billion to $25.669 billion, according to SBP data.
During the months from July to April in the year 2023-24, imports from China into the country amounted to $10.648 billion. This is compared to $8.343 billion last year, indicating a 27.61% increase.
Overall imports into Pakistan went down by 5.27%, decreasing from $45.766 billion to $43.353 billion.
