Apple might soon add an exciting new feature to its MacBooks, thanks to a recent patent it received. This patent reveals that Apple is exploring the idea of adding rotating and detachable displays to future MacBooks.

The new design could change how users interact with their MacBooks, making them more versatile and immersive. According to the patent, the MacBook could have a base with an input section and a display that can rotate and be removed from the base. The display might also include cameras and sensors on the back.

One part of the patent shows a MacBook with a camera on the back of the screen, similar to the cameras on iPhones. Another illustration suggests that the MacBook could have multiple cameras, like those on the iPhone Pro, and various sensors, including infrared cameras and LiDAR modules.

The patent also describes different ways to attach and detach these cameras. For instance, one design shows a camera module that can be connected to the front display when needed. The patent was first filed in April 2022, and it highlights Apple’s ongoing efforts to improve the functionality of its MacBooks with new and advanced features.
