ChatGPT Experienced Two Big Problems — Here’s What OpenAI Says
ChatGPT Experienced Two Big Problems: OpenAI’s main AI tool, ChatGPT, had a problem yesterday that lasted for more than four hours. This affected both the website and mobile apps. It came back online for a short time but then went offline again.
ChatGPT sometimes has small issues when making images or text, but this was the first time it had a big problem like this in a while.
The first reports of the problem showed up on a website called DownDetector around 2:30 AM ET. People said they had trouble using ChatGPT on the web, mobile app, and desktop app.
OpenAI figured out what caused the problem around 4:00 AM ET and started working on fixing it. But at 5:00 AM ET, they were still working on it. Services started working again around 7:45 AM ET, but then stopped again by 10:30 AM ET. As of 1:59 PM ET, OpenAI suggested users might need to do a ‘hard refresh’ on the ChatGPT website.
It’s the day after ChatGPT had a big problem, but OpenAI says everything is fixed now. If you’re still having issues with ChatGPT on your computer or phone, OpenAI suggests doing a hard refresh.
To do a hard refresh on a Mac, press Cmd+Shift+R in Chrome or Cmd+Option+R in Safari. On a PC, no matter which browser you use, press Ctrl+F5.
If you’re using ChatGPT again today, you can try out some premium features for free. Here are five features you might want to try first.
